I was lucky enough to catch this movie and Southwork, the band who scored the film, last night as it played in Knoxville.

Father's Day 2011
Father’s Day is a tough one for me. I appreciate the fact that Astron 6 went above and beyond to recreate some of the low budget and genre imagery as well as they did, but one of the biggest issues working against it is pacing. Night School 1981
Night School has its atmosphere, interesting camera shots and music all working in its favor, but sadly, the story is lacking.
With a little more work the mystery here would have actually been a mystery. Figuring out the killer will be easy for most folks within a few minutes of starting the film. The red herrings, or lack there of, are weak and provide no reason to second guess.

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
I wonder how the pitch for this went. After watching it, I can only assume they went in and mentioned several movies that are loved from the 80’s and 90’s then said we’re going to do elements of all of them in one movie. Heathers. Check.
