probably the worst movie I have seen in a while.

tyler perry was fucking terrible as madea. he kept coming out of character with the voice. but maybe the movie wasn't playing it entirely straight. I got that idea when madea gets upset at the drive thru and proceeds to driver her/his car into/inside the restaurant.

i laughed out loud at this one transition. the mother is walking up to her daughter's house to ask for bail money. it keeps dissolving back and forth between two shots as she walks up. It looks awful. One shot is angled slightly and doesn't fit with the other one. Its almost like a mis-matched eyeline, it just fucks with me.

tyler perry is our Orson Welles. produced, written, acted, and directed by. i really want to pick apart Perry's technique. you know, as an auteur. maybe i need to look at some of his earlier work.
