The Guard 2011

Morgan Nichol’s review:
Brendan Gleeson is an absolute delight as an acid tripping, whoring, drunk, wisecracking, pisstaking Irish garda on a quiet small town beat.
Don Cheadle is a fish out of water FBI agent, far out of his jurisdiction in Ireland hunting a group of murderous international drug smugglers.
Cheadle plays the foil perfectly, but it's all Gleeson from beginning to end here. He brings it, and he nails it in this darkly humorous, bitter-sweet, and ultimately highly entertaining film.
