Cave of Forgotten Dreams 2010 ★★★★½

An amazing film that i was lucky enough to see in 3D at the cinema. Like most 3D it takes a bit to get used to it, but it really does compliment the film, adding that extra dimension to this beautiful place which most of us will never be able to see in person.

It's awe inspiring to see this ancient artwork done by such primitive beings, especially realising the amount of skill that is obviously present in the drawings. Apart from just seeing the artwork, there are a few interviews with scientists and a bit of the history of the cave for context, which is interesting, but i found myself just wanting to be back in the cave. Herzog seems to realise this, and gives it adequate screen time with long, slow pans so that we can properly soak it in.

A truely unique film and a must see (in 3D especially).
