TheWorkingDead’s review:
If you've only seen the Americanized version of this film, with an awkwardly inserted Raymond Burr, than this is going to be a revelation. It's like watching a whole new movie. The drama is heightened, Godzilla himself is much scarier(treated like a real menace, not just a hokey rubber monster), and the tone of the film is surprisingly melancholic. Already a classic, but worth a clear-eyed revisit.
