The first Scream was wildly entertaining, but by design the sequels became less inventive and more grating in their self awareness. I had no reason to expect much out of Scream 4, and indeed the film is very silly, but it was also a lot of fun. Wes Craven made a serious misstep with My Soul To Take, a candidate for the worst horror film of the last decade, but seems reenergized with Scream 4. For all it's faults, Scream 4 moves at an entertaining pace and features some great setpieces.
