From the cover alone, I thought this would be a thin Hollywood Western.
But the depth of character and simplicity of narrative surprised me.
Even with the occasional camp and lack of cinematography, the film was an absolute joy to watch.
This film, like all good anime, employs incredibly stunning imagery.
And the story is fantastical and enthralling in all the right ways.
But there is simply too little substance and too short of a runtime.
What beautiful excess of 70s style and pizzazz!
Though a bit genre bland in some parts, the end is the perfect Dionysian lynch pin.
And, like all movies, it could use more Beef.
Remember, kids, love conquers all.
Especially in the case of isolation tank induced genetic regression to a sapien state.
Because that happens.
