Tim Packer’s review:
Worth a watch for the good all-round performances of the then fairly unknown cast, but it seems fairly unlikely that Jenny (the excellent Carey Mulligan), a sixteen year old schoolgirl would be allowed by her father (a slightly nutty Alfred Molina) to accompany the obviously much older David (Peter Sarsgaard) to Paris for the weekend....in the early 60's!!!
Also, the end is a little bit of a let-down as there seems to be hardly any real consequences of the actions of the two protaganists when the excrement finally hits the ventilation device.
