Sure, the plot of this film is simple enough that it's spelled out in the trailer, but the reward for watching the film is falling in love with Michelle Williams' Marilyn Monroe at least a dozen times. Her performance here is pretty incredible.

I wish I could have seen this in a theatre. First, because the photography an effects are beautiful, and the prologue's Wagner sound track is best played loud. But second, because I would have loved to see the audience reaction at the end of the film. I imagine it was probably evenly split, like Tree of Life, with half the audience stuck to their seats contemplating what they just saw, and the other half angrily running to the box office…
