Happiness 1998 ★★★★★

There's a lot to chew on in Todd Solondz's shocking, spellbinding masterpiece, but the subplots with Dylan Baker and Philip Seymour Hoffman -- the ones that probe and seek to sympathize with even the darkest of human urges -- always prove to be the most compelling, with both actors knocking it out of the park and the stories themselves putting you through the intellectual and emotional wringer. Haunting stuff.
