13 Going On 30 2004
Wait, I was 13 in 1987. Why didn't I turn into Jennifer Garner by the time I was 30? Wait, I mean Mark Ruffalo! Oh, what a giveaway.

21 Jump Street 2012
More fun than I thought it would be.

30 Minutes or Less 2011
Despite the funny people in the cast, doesn't quite gel into a cohesively humorous comedy. (So the writers were only "vaguely aware" of a previous incident in which someone had a bomb strapped to him and was forced to rob a bank? Riiiiiight.)

42 2013
Very good dramatization -- of course, having read some books on the subject, I certainly recognized a few things that didn't happen quite as depicted in the film. What I really wanted was even more baseball scenes, so I could get more of a look at the digital reproductions of the old ballparks. (And I really feel sorry for Larry Doby not even getting a mention in the dialogue.) Glad I saw it on Jackie Robinson Day.

50 First Dates 2004
Cute and sentimental in spite of Adam Sandler. I think I liked the plot better when it was a "Saturday Night Live" sketch starring Tom Hanks.

Alice in Wonderland 1951
Ridiculous! (Yes, I know that's the point.)
-
All the Real Girls 2003
Very well-written and well-acted, but a little bit slow-moving for my taste. Zooey Deschanel is almost unrecognizable at the beginning of the movie, without her usual bangs.
-
Along Came Polly 2004
I liked this better under its original title, "Generic Romantic Comedy No. 173."

An American Werewolf in London 1981
The best thing about this movie is the transformation scene - can't believe CGI would be better.
-
Anger Management 2003
This film would have better if it were about John Turturro's character and/or featured more of January Jones sucking on Krista Allen's fingers. Still, Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler do a good job of playing themselves; Derek Jeter and Roger Clemens can't quite pull that off as convincingly.

Another Earth 2011
There's a pretty good movie here about a woman trying to make amends for a terrible mistake she made as a teenager, and there's a pretty good movie here about the appearance of a parallel version of Earth -- but I'm not sure either benefits by being combined with the other.
