Rise of the Animals 2012
Oh deer! Excruciatingly baaad in every way imaginable, with a few brief moments of absurd hilarity. Would have fit nicely in the so-bad-it's-good category if the second half wasn't so darn boring. I couldn't bear to watch it again.

Here are ten reasons why The Video Dead is awesome:
1) Brilliant poster art that would be right at home on the cover of a cheesy '80s rock album.
2) It did the whole “ghoul outta the TV” thing 10 years before The Ring.
3) April, AKA the Paris Hilton look-alike, and the inane shit she says. ("I'm April. Don't you hate it? It sounds like the smell they put on Kleenex." WHAT?!)

Exorcist: The Beginning 2004
Someone really should have told Renny Harlin and co. that throwing in every single possible reference to the original Exorcist does not a good prequel make.
Instead, Exorcist: The Beginning, or, Lankester Merrin and the Church of Doom, is an absolute bastardization of William Peter Blatty and William Friedkin's masterpiece of horror, saved (somewhat) only by the admirable lead performances of Stellan Skarsgård and Izabella Scorupco.
Only worth checking out to compare with Paul Schrader's vastly superior version.
