Unklerupert’s review published on Letterboxd:
There was once a time, in the early 80s, where classification did not exist for home video, you could rent anything from the video shop (next to the chippy), uncut, bonkers exploitation stuff. Watching Hobo is like going back to those good old days.
Rutger Hauer plays the Hobo, drifting into Scum Town, keeping himself to himself. But events push him into taking action against the criminal family that rule the roost.
Over the top violence, blood & gore. That old feeling of a post apocalyptic dystopia where crime and the most base of human desires have taken control, and maybe in the end hope, that one man can change things for many, for the better.
Relive those 80s video shop days as soon as you can, Hobo With A Shotgun is proper bonkers, and has the kind of performance from Hauer you might have thought you'd never see again.
