Spectacle. That was the word that hit me on the first viewing. When the aircraft carrier becomes the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, my mind exploded. This is super hero spectacle at its finest and despite the minor plot flaws, this is a fun rollicking super hero action flick that leaves you breathless at every chance it gets to do so. You get fights that fanboys have only ever created in their minds or with theiir action figures. You get moments like Hulk saving the day and the crowd cheers. The mid credits coda is a portend of things to come with Thanos being introduced. This opens the Marvel Cinematic Universe WIDE to expand it in directions that fanboys never expected. This movie is onne of my favorites of this summer.
