Pretty much a two hour version of that old Jon Lovitz "ACTING!" sketch on SNL.

It's as if at some point the Broccoli family let Canon films produce a James Bond entry. At least they put their foot down at Golan/Globus suggestion of casting Michael Dudikoff as 007.

The bummer is, I would love to see a more faithful adaptation with the same, game cast sans the studio mandated big action set pieces every 15 minutes, where Holmes skills are more based on observation rather then him apparently having the Shinning*

Lazy beat for beat rip off of the superior Major League (even down to the poster featuring their respected sport's ball with cartoonish features), I'd forgotten pretty much everything about it except for the wacky commenting antics of Bob Uec--sorry, Rob Schneider, since my last viewing, which was in theatres 21(!) years ago.

I did kind of like that their big accomplishment was not winning a Bowl game but improving to 1-8-1; and as a 49er fan, any film featuring a cameo from Jerry Rice automatically results in a half star uptick.
