Nick R’s review published on Letterboxd :
An everything-ist cop goes after a criminal who's clearly a Goddamn Lefty Hippy because he wears a Ban The Bomb sign and shrieks that his Human Rights have been violated. Subtle it ain't! But it's an exciting story, told very well, and there's a great soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin.
The film is most famous for this speech:
"I know what you’re thinking: 'Did he fire six shots, or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well do ya, punk?"
A classic film moment that everyone knows about. But somehow, despite all the times I've seen that clip and parodies of it, I'd managed to avoid learning what happens next: does he fire another bullet or not?
Well, now I know. And the answer surprised me. :)
