Casino Royale 2006
Daniel Craig takes over as 007 and attacks the role with such a rough demenour that fans of Pierce Brosnan must have been both shaken and stirred. Timothy Dalton had the same effect a decade earlier but audiences were not ready. Now they seemed more than ready and this became an even bigger smash than I assume the makers had thought.

Diamonds Are Forever 1971
Sean Connery came back one more time after George Lazenby left the series. He really should not have. I used to really enjoy this when I was a kid, but now its a rather lifeless affair with a lackluster story bolstered only by Connery even though he really isnt trying at all. Probably as a reaction the OHMSS this is where things start to get silly but only a handfull of the gags work. As this droned on, all I could think about is that at least Roger Moore is coming soon to save the day!

Sumptuous gothic melodrama from Alfred Hitchcock that brings Daphne du Maurier's 'Jane Eyre' inspired novel to the screen. The classic tale is presented with perfection in with top performances from Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine and Judith Anderson whose performance ranks among the very best of screen villians.
