Dorian Gray 2009

Reviewed May 05, 2012

There's a difference between adapting a book to fit a movie format, and completely ignoring the source material. This film does the latter and runs with it - none of the important themes and issues from the book are dealt with, and the characters are so, in fact, out-of-character that it's just ridiculous.

I really wanted to love this movie, since the book is so great and the film at least *looks* like it's accurate, but it's essentially the equivalent of lighting the book on fire and then spitting on Oscar Wilde's grave.
