This movie is almost nothing like, and is far less enjoyable than, the original musical. Just thought I'd rip that bandaid off quickly.

That said, the film is enjoyable. It's very slow and the dialogue is boring, but the songs are a lot of fun. Drew and Sherri are very plain characters, but granted the actors didn't have much to work with. Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Tom Cruise are easily the best performances, while Alec Baldwin is a waste of space - although, to be fair, the only time I really laughed out loud was during his and Brand's duet.

Overall, nothing spectacular here but it's enjoyable enough.
