  • The Deep 1977

    ★★★½ Watched 29 Feb, 2012

I was honestly impressed by this film. I knew that it was based on a Peter Benchley novel but was thinking it was about a creature under the sea and not just about treasure. Robert Shaw was brilliant in this film. I may need to watch more of his films, but really he made the movie. I don't think it would have been as good with just Nick Nolte. Shaw was a intricate part of the film that would have failed without him.

  • The Big Fix 1978

    ★★★½ Watched 29 Feb, 2012

Richard Dreyfuss stars as a bumbling student activist turned private investigator who begins to hunt down the killer of a former love interest in college. She had come to him and wanted to hire him to look into some dirty politics, but gets killed in the process.
The film was okay, but it didn't seem like it was well planned out. The story was too all over the place for my taste.

  • The Man from Nowhere 2010

    ★★★★ Watched 29 Feb, 2012

Such a great film about a guy who becomes so attached to this little girl that he is unstoppable in finding her kidnappers who were going to use her body for organ harvesting. The emotion you have for what is going on, and how you are rooting for him to find her and to kick their asses was so powerful. Great film.

  • No One Killed Jessica 2011

    ★★★★ Watched 03 Mar, 2012

On our first film of International movie weekend, we hunted Netflix for a "Bollywood" movie, which we found this listed. I was hoping for random dance numbers throughout the movie. We got none of that. But what we got was an incredible film (bilingual) based on a true story about a girl who was murdered but due to the corrupt courts, the murderer got of clean. It took a journalist to find out about it years later to bring justice…

  • Human Traffic 1999

    Watched 03 Mar, 2012

I so was not a fan of this movie, but then again I am not a fan of most movies that have to deal with people just doing drugs, getting drunk and partying without some sorta of decent story like a murder or something. Found that is just was not worth the hour and a half I spent watching it.

  • The Lone Ranger 1956

    ★★★ Added

I was a huge fan of The Lone Ranger when I was a little kid, had the dolls and the horse and would watch the TV show. Watching this movie brought back a lot of memories from my youth and the good ol’ Sunday morning movies that were either oldies or westerns. This movie was truly a good western. Pioneers, Indians, gun fights, etc… Just a fun, even family fun, flick. Very enjoyable.

  • Split Decisions 1988

    ★★★ Added

Not a lot of people have heard about this movie, maybe because it is an older title or maybe it is just one of those movies. In a nut shell, the movie is about two brothers who are both boxers who were trained by their father. One went his own way looking for fame and fortune, the other one was working towards becoming a boxing Olympian. When the brother got mixed in with the wrong crowd and was asked to…

Can I get that 70 minutes back of my life??? Found on Netflix in the Gay & Lesbian streaming section, the premise of the movie had promise but failed as a small theater group from Seattle with probably only a camcorder and a script filmed this movie about Gay Zombies.
In the movie, a group of “confirmed bachelors” met up at a summer lake house for drinks and some show tunes and get invaded by other “confirmed bachelors” who got stung…

  • Dan in Real Life 2007

    ★★★ Added

On our list of movies this weekend was Dan In Really Life. I had been wanting to see this for a couple weeks now and I moviefest began with this one.

Over all I was on the fence with this movie. I had higher hopes for it after seeing Evan Almighty and Little Miss Sunshine. Previews of the movie made we want to see it, but most of the funny was in the previews. I felt the movie had a…

  • Spider-Man 3 2007

    ★★½ Added

On our weekend of movie watching, we rented 4 movies: Dan In Real Life, The Brave One, Cloverfield and… damn I forgot the other movie. What was that other movie we rented. Racking my brain to figure out what other movie we watch, I came up empty handed. So, I asked Elisabeth and she did exactly what I did and came up with… NOTHING!
After a short period of time being annoyed that we could not remember what movie we…

  • Never Been Kissed 1999

    ★★★★★ Added

I figured that I would start a my review process with all my favorites. So, I am starting with Drew Barrymore, who has been my top favorite actress since Poison Ivy. Drew is an incredible actress and since here come back has worked hard to stay clean and release good fun movies, like Never Been Kissed.

Never Been Kissed is the perfect romantic comedy in my book. It has all the ingredients for a classic. Not only does this movie…

  • Freddy Got Fingered 2001

The only reason I even attempted to watch this movie was because of Drew Barrymore, which I am sure the only reason she was in this was for Mr Tom Green. I really think she felt sorry for him. The $13M it made were truly from the Drew fans that hoped it would be decent. We were ALL WRONG!
I think within the first 20 minutes, I was so grossed out and appalled at what was going on in the…
