Once again, Jason Statham has been unleashed on an unsuspecting public, many of whom he will eventually beat to death. This one was a little better than I was expecting (and certainly better than it needed to be). Decent action, pretty well acted (Statham even cries a single, presumably non-CGI tear), and pulls off the neat trick of being one of the most cynical, misanthropic movies I've ever seen, where the few moments of genuine heart actually feel earned...
The fight choreographer was JJ Perry, who won the Fight Choreographer of the Year award at ActionFest this year. All around great guy, so I look forward to seeing this one.
How closely does it adhere to the Mercury Rising / Rain Man school of Autistic Savant sidekick films?
Actually, she isn't even autistic. Shes just gifted and talented, which means 3000% less awkward child thesping, which we can all agree is a good thing.
Unless the child is a time traveling Dustin Hoffman, I agree completely.
I don't know if they've even invented the amount of money I wouldn't pay to see that...
