House of the Devil is just like The Innkeepers. Minus the story, somewhat likeable characters, humor and “scary” scenes. It was a bit cool that it looked like a 80s ghost film at the beginning, but it was not nearly enough to save the film. I don’t feel like exploring Ti West’s filmography any more. Also, I don’t consider something a twist if you give out free information about it in the opening. Some may say that I just wrote a spoiler or that it wasn’t supposed to be a twist. Well, I disagree.
