Children of Men 2006
Although highly regarded by many I'm still not convinced it is appreciated as much as it should be. For me this is one of the finest science fiction films of all time, perhaps not as influential as Metropolis, Blade Runner et al but every bit as brilliant.
It manages to achieve what many sci-fi films do not, it manages to not only deliver a unique dystopic concept but also deliver a rich and moving emotional journey too. Too often genre…

Spies 1928
Probably the Granddaddy of all spy movies, this late silent masterpiece sets up all the trademarks that the genre would later be famous for. There is the dashing agent whos identity is concealed by a number, the evil mastermind confined to a weelchair, secret cameras and microphones and much more.
"Spies" starts off strong and keeps up a remarkable pace throughout the whole 160 Minutes as Lang brings his a-game and delivers one of his best films. -
The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou 2004
My favourite Wes Anderson film. Heart warming. Funny. Quirky. Sweet. I love it.

The Dark Knight Rises 2012
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The Dictator 2012
Let me qualify this review by saying that I didn't make it past the first 20 minutes. I wasn't expecting much when I sat down to watch & so I wasn't particularly disappointed. Targeting the humour of adolescents & younger - 13 year old boys will probably find it funnier than I did. Maybe.

The Dark Knight Rises 2012
After seven years and three films, Nolan’s Batman journey is over. The question is, is The Dark Knight Rises the send off the trilogy deserves? Sadly the answer to that question is a crushing no. Having re-watched both previous films this week I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the weakest film of the trilogy, and to make things worse, it isn’t even a good film, period.
In many ways the film’s problems existed throughout…

Iron Man 2 2010
Why is it that very few sequels can match its original? Iron Man 2 is no exception. Really felt like the movie studio simply said "Its made a bucketload of money...quick -go an make another". The highlight of the movie?...the intro of Black Widow. Nuff said.

Avatar 2009
...Right. Ok, so I'll be honest. The first time I saw this I thought it was a technological masterpiece and was blown away by what I was watching. I rated it 4 stars.
Now, watching it at home on the small screen, I had to struggle to finish it. I was bored out of my skull. Sure, it is still a feast of well made CGI and innovative technology and I applaud Cameron for it. But he should have thought…

Batman Forever 1995
This film may be looked back at some day as "so bad it's good". That day is not today.
