Naz Hamid’s review:
Unlike my love for the first film, this one disappoints greatly. It feels like territory retread in other monsters-go-Hollywood films. The characters are caricatures and stereotypes. Shallow, surface-based.
Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm, while great to revisit, is not the wisecracking, suave, "rockstar" he was in the first. Here, he's fretting and fussing.
If anything, the film definitely runs a parable on conservation and naturalism — the dinosaurs are stand-ins for modern day animal extinction and by far, you feel much for the dinosaurs rather than the two dimensional humans making a huge muck about them.
