Superhero Cinema (1978 to present)
Leave me suggestions in the comments. Note: comic characters are not ALWAYS superheroes. Note #2: pre-existing characters only. No Unbreakable or Super, although they're both good.

@Bendrix So Mystery Men pre-existed before the movie? I honestly did not know that before now.
@drock1217 - They did. And so did the Man in Black. It's debatable if they count as super heroes, though. :)
@Bendrix the movie was based on a comic book series by Bob Burden called "Original MysteryMen" which got adapted into the movie. Ironically, Dark Horse Comics then also did a comic book adaptation of the movie.
Apologies @drok1217 if I answered out of turn.
How about Darkman?
Darkman is an original movie-character as well.
I suggested it on the basis that he is a superhero, I didn't realise they had to be taken from pre-existent content. My mistake.
If you've got The Crow then surely you need to add the 3 inferior sequels?
As a clear fan of superhero films I thought you'd appreciate an article I wrote for Sabotage Times. Read it here: www.sabotagetimes.com/tv-film/the-sandman-and-4-other-contemporary-comic-books-that-deserve-the-big-screen-treatment/
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - they are heroes (in a half-shell) and while they don't have super powers, just highly trained ninjas, so is Batman.
