Werner’s review published on Letterboxd :
Jeff Bridges as a low life country singer hitting rock bottom in his late days. Alcohol, women and touring around the country, this movie shows the afterlife of Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll and how one tries to revive it. About how the student (Colin Farrell) beats the master.
You don't know for sure if you should feel pity and sorrow with this man or just to blame him for the downfall of his life. Maggie Gyllenhaal tries to pull him out of this misery, but will she succeed? A movie with one of the best written soundtrack, or better to say, one of the best written country albums ever around describing the story by itself. Listening to it by yourself already makes you picture the life of a man who has a crazy heart.
