I watched this without having seen the French original, POUR ELLE - something I normally try not to do - and am curious as to how many of this film's faults are down to the adaptation and how many are down to the source material. An interesting premise and very deliberate (some might say slow) pacing make this more reflective than your average Hollywood remake, but it does drag at times and is on the whole fairly bland.
