Divine Waters 1985

Austin Wolf-Sothern’s review:
Italian documentary on John Waters and Divine, primarily focused on Waters’ family. Some great, lengthy interviews with his parents, as the filmmaker seems fascinated by where a personality like JW came from, and also seems really interested in his sister. It’s not especially well-made, but all the interviews are great, and there are some amazing, priceless moments, like Edie performing a couple of songs ("Hey Punks! Get off the Grass!" and "Fever") in her shop.
