Dan Gorman’s review:
Slight and featherweight entry in the 80s buddy-cop genre manages to act as passable entertainment. Well lensed by Hyams -- are any of his movies not? -- and interestingly downbeat at times. First I thought the script was lazily not introducing us to the characters, but over time it seemed to embrace their back-and-forth dialogue as a more organic way of easing us into their relationship. Maybe I'm over-analyzing, but I'll give the movie props for playing it out that way instead of running us through the usual rigmarole.
