This was a major disappointment for me, as I love Michelle Williams and ordinarily I am very into this low-key kind of look at love and life. Unfortunately, despite the great performances across the board and gorgeous cinematography, Sarah Polley's script for Take This Waltz is the weakest link here -- with sappy broadly painted characters who at times just sit down and explain to the audience how they are feeling and thinking. Seth Rogen's character feels the most realistic, surprisingly enough. Take This Waltz has so much working in its favor, it's a real let down that it doesn't all add up.
