The Sixth Sense 1999
M. Night Shyamalan a name now associated with box office duds and failures. That's a shame because he got off to such a great start with this film.
The Sixth Sense is a ghost story and for this type of film to work it needs to be scary or creepy. Fortunately for us it succeeds with flying colors in that area. It's one of the few films in the history of cinema that has made the hairs on the back…

The Man from Nowhere 2010
This was my second time seeing this film, and nothing has changed I still fucking love it! It's a pretty typical revenge story made great by an emotional punch in the gut that's rarely seen in this type of film. So do I recommend it? Fuck yes I recommend it, YES YES YES!

Django Unchained 2012
"Gentlemen, you had my curiousity. But now, you have my attention."
Calvin CandieQuentin Tarantino has had my attention since the very first time I saw Pulp Fiction. It was the first film I ever saw where one of the first words that came to mind was masterpiece! It was my first Tarantino, I've seen everything he's directed since and I've been impressed every damn time. In my opinion he simply doesn't make bad films.
So with everything I said…

The Man from Nowhere 2010
This film is a masterpiece in the revenge genre if you ask me. Anytime a film can evoke raw emotion in me I'll probably love it, and that is surely the case here. It's a revenge film so you get some of the typical elements within that type of film, but the filmmakers do such a great job of getting you invested in the characters you come to care deeply for them. The action sequences which are not as frequent…

Looper 2012
Fucking brilliant!
Looper is easily the best film I've seen this year! I loved everything about it! I was in awe from start to finish. The directing, performances, and plot are all top notch. Pierce Gagnon pratical steals the show as Cid with the best child performance I've seen since Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense. I teared up at one point because I was so happy with what I was seeing. I can't recommend this film highly enough and I think most people will love it.

How to Train Your Dragon 2010
I previously reviewed this film and gave it 3 1/2 stars which is accurate. I'm posting this review for my 2yr old son who absolutely loves it. It's the first movie he's shown a lot of interest in so his review is as follows.
"Whatcha dragon moomie yep?" Whatcha dragon moomie hahaha"

Watchmen 2009
I absolutely loved this film! I've never read the source material so I can't make that comparison, but if it's better than this movie than it's great. I enjoyed all of the characters especially Rorschach. I love Jackie Earle Haley's portrayal of this character in the same way I love Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. Overall I simply love this film, and it ranks among my all-time favorites.

Sling Blade 1996
OK how do I describe Sling Blade? It's brilliantly acted, touching, heartwarming, sad, heartbreaking, awkward, amazing, and FUCKING HILARIOUS! Yeah I know weird right? This film has to be the funniest unintentionally funny film I've ever seen. It has all of the things I mentioned above which make it an absolutely great film, but I swear to you it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm not sure if anyone else understands why I find it so damn…

Children of Men 2006
Every once in a while you see a film that reminds you why you love movies. Children of Men did that for me. It's both bleak and beautiful! It shows the best and worst of humanity with some of the most stunning cinematography I've ever seen. The sound in this film is so good I felt a need to duck when explosions were heard and shots were fired. As bleak as the story gets it's still full of hope! I…

Se7en 1995
"What's in the box?"
Se7en! This film belongs in a class of films that set the standard for thrillers and film making in general! Anyone who has even a twinkle in their eye about making a thriller should study this film because it can only help! I don't know if any film is absolutely perfect, but this is one of those films that gets as close as you can get. It's David Fincher's masterpiece and it features possibly a career…

Identity 2003
I saw this when it was released back in 2003 and I still don't think I've seen a film since that kept me guessing like this film did. Director James Mangold cleverly leads the viewer in several very plausible directions as to what's actually going on here and then caps it off with one of my favorite twists ever in a film! It's got a nice ensemble cast who all give very good performances. It's a film that is definitely…
