Biggest WTF?/Holy Shit moments on film!
I'd like to compile a list of films that have moments that made myself and members of the Letterboxd community utter the words what the fuck or holy shit! I'll include the reasons why in the notes click on list view to see them.
Spoiler warning! If you haven't seen a film on this list do not read the notes.
@Jake good recommendation I'll add it.
Haha, I like your description of Bronson: "Multiple scenes throughout." That whole film is basically one long (brilliant) WTF?
The elevator scene in Drive is my favourite. Perfect juxtaposition.
It's not really a personal WTF moment, but in Scott Pilgrim when Matthew Patel starts his Bollywood/dance bit you could feel the half of the cinema audience that hadn't read the comics have a communal WTF moment.
For me the bit in Hot Fuzz where Timothy Dalton (or Mr BOND as I think of him) impales his lower jaw on the model church spire made me go OH SHIT.
@Elizabeth Thanks! I'll add both of your suggestions.
Added The Imposter and Compliance. In both cases the entire film is a WTF moment.
You need spoliers tags on The Orphanage :)
How about the reveals in Moon and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage? I'm not one to spoil films for others so I'll let you scope it out if you haven't already seen them!
No Visitor Q on this list yet? That entire film is a WTF.
But specifically: The lactation/umbrella scene and, "She's getting wet!"
@Jonny In my description of the list it says if you haven't seen the film don't read the notes. I haven't seen The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. As for Moon I'm not sure if it fits. The reveal is a good one but I'm not sure if I'd classify it as a wtf or holy shit moment. Maybe you can convince me or maybe others would like to chime in on it.
@Kevin I still haven't seen it but I'll take your word for it and add it now.
@Ron Yeah, fair point :) just wondered if you'd missed it as the rest had spoiler warnings. I ignored it though as I haven't seen it!
You're probably right about Moon, depends how attached to the film one becomes as it's not a particular universal wtf moment, just wtf for the characters!
@Jonny For me Moon was more of an Oh moment.
