Monsieur Flynn’s review published on Letterboxd:
Based on the true story of one of the biggest robberies in Britain--the 1971 Baker Street bank robbery--but if I gave you the rundown of the plot you'd probably believe I gave you the basic rundown of a Guy Ritchie movie. Add the 70's flavor, including a wannabe British Malcolm X-thug, bent coppers, politicians in sex scandals, a wildly shagging Royal Princess caught in photos used for blackmail, a porn-king, and then of course our own motley crew of half-amateur robbers--lead by Ritchie-regular Jason Statham--brought together for THE big score by a chick they know from their early years... and I haven't even mentioned the 70s tits, the lovely slang, the MI-5 interest and whatnot.
It's got a more serious tone than Guy used to have, a little more rough around the edges, and it's really not a bad story (not that all Guy's were either). Not extremely entertaining, and that's its biggest sin, but engaging enough to hold my interest throughout.
Doesn't go down as one of the big ones, but really not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
