Add this to the list of Johnnie To movies that didn't really "click" with me. It's really austere and artfully composed, and the action scenes are fantastic, but I found the whole thing a bit slick against my brain. Maybe if/when I watch this or Election again it'll be a better experience.
This was my first time watching the Mission, and I really liked it. What ones have you seen? I started with Vengeance and Exiled and have been trying (very slowly) to work my way through hs back catalog.
In addition to this I've seen Election and Heroic Trio. What did you think of the others?
I've only seen Vengeance, Exiled, and Election (and now The Mission). I loved Vengeance and Exiled - they are newer and a bit showier and slicker, but I still really liked them. The action set-pieces are great. If you didn't like the slickness of this one though, you may not like V and E. Hm. Maybe it's just Anthony Wong I really like =) Anyway, I checked out this article after watching V & E, and have been using it as a guide.
