Hugo 2011
Visually, this film is in my top 10 for the stunning effects and set designs. The merge between the time period of the back story to the more present was done seamlessly and added a whole new level to the characters. Typically, flashbacks are done weakly, adding little to the plot-line. However, Hugo needed every element, left nothing out, and finished with a positive note. The acting was perfect, the sets very realistic with a touch of fantasy, and the storyline excellent from start to finish. Great movie, especially in 3D!

Three... Extremes 2004
Because of this film I'm now a fan of Japanese horror. I thought American and European horror was strange and unexpected, but all three of these stories (packed into one film) are gut-twisting, gag inducing brilliant. Highly recommended for those looking for a shocking experience.

Dead Snow 2009
An excellent addition to the zombie genre. While the film begins like a foreign version of a college kids' weekend getaway that turns into a nightmare, the plot development was better than expected. True, no zombie movie is complete without gore and undead schtick, and Dead Snow leaves nothing to be desired. A great movie to curl up to by the fire with a chainsaw at your side.
