Chris Toms’s review published on Letterboxd :
Visually, this film is in my top 10 for the stunning effects and set designs. The merge between the time period of the back story to the more present was done seamlessly and added a whole new level to the characters. Typically, flashbacks are done weakly, adding little to the plot-line. However, Hugo needed every element, left nothing out, and finished with a positive note. The acting was perfect, the sets very realistic with a touch of fantasy, and the storyline excellent from start to finish. Great movie, especially in 3D!
