The Avengers is one of the best comic book movies to date, and finally brings definitive proof that Marvel Studios insane master plan actually worked. Having introduced all the major characters prior in separate films, it manages to jump right into what everyone wanted to see: The Avengers assemble.

Despite a relatively simple plot, and a few nitpicks surrounding the villain's lack of motivation, the movie still works just about perfectly. Getting the king of ensemble casts to write the script for it, Joss Whedon, made each character feel like themselves, and work together brilliantly.

The Avengers is not a good comic book movie, it's a great one, and any fans of superheroes, nay, any fans of film, owe it to themselves to see this movie.
