"Deliver my soul from the sword."
A film that dares to reiterate how toxically masculine, repressed men can be gay, too. I don't see much of any value in repeating the conceptual discussions and past nuances - via the contemporary subject matter of homosexuality (ex: in moral complexities, in ramifications of violence, in the very presence of sexuality, etc.) - for a public that has seen been aware of those same discussions. New avenues of invigoration are crucial to the evolution of such already-familiar topics, in spite of Champion's precise craft (and beautiful scenery). A recommendation: find bigger targets.
