Tomster Monster’s review published on Letterboxd:
Raiders of the Lost Ark’s action scenes are so ridiculously fun, and it has such a perfect score and great acting, it’s incredibly hard not to love it.
I cannot overstate how perfect Harrison Ford is as Indiana Jones. Really, can you think of another actor who could even come close? Because I can’t. Everyone else, meh. Paul Freeman as Dr. René Belloq is probably the best besides Harrison Ford, but he’s still a distant second.
John Williams’s score really makes the film come to life, and is the best score I’ve ever heard in any movie, period. It changes some action sequences from overlong and boring to extremely fun, dripping with tension and fantastically exciting.
Those same sequences are also the reason that this movie works at all. Without them, this would be a confusing, wobbly and disfigured mess. They really put the everything in the everything, if you know what I mean.
I cannot say in words how much I love this movie.
