This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I really enjoyed this and I really didn’t think I was that emotionally invested in the characters but omg that ending broke my heart

RIP Ben you were a real one

I’m still obsessed with showgirls clearly.

I thought this documentary was well done but I really wish they had broken down some of the glaring race issues with the film.

I’ve never felt more conflicted about a film in my life. I loved it and I hated it equally. It’s so campy and terrible but the hair and makeup is god tier.

This felt like screaming into the void and punching a hole in the wall

  • For Ellen

    For Ellen

    ★★★

A bare bones character study of a deadbeat man. Joby has picked his career over being a father to his daughter, Ellen and it seems like it was the wrong decision. You see over the course of the film that he has used this ultimatum as a catalyst to try and change his life but by the end he’s fallen back into his old ways.

Lots of people have said this film is boring and I agree but I enjoyed…

There’s so much to say about this film but I genuinely don’t have the words. Just know it was beautiful and I’m deeply disturbed.

This was my first Ōbayashi and will definitely not be my last. Labyrinth of cinema is batshit crazy but clearly the work of someone who is so incredibly in love with cinema. I can’t really describe the viewing experience of this because it’s not like anything I’ve ever seen.
