    Under the Silver Lake

    Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces

Funny, but in the end this is really just a compilation of deleted scenes with no storyline or binding factor whatsoever. Very sad about the fact that a few of these scenes didn’t make the actual film. Especially the black lodge ones with the close-up shots of the mouths.
Glad that I still got to see them though.

    Closeness

    ★★★½

Closeness brings us the most hideous closing credits ever brought to this world, but that doesn’t really matter anymore when you’ve seen the movie.

The way color is used, the many metaphors the film includes, the soundtrack, the sincerity and also the slowness of Closeness makes for this aesthetically pleasing and almost theatrical movie.

Also, I need to visit Russia one day.

    The Favourite

Lanthimos did it again everyone. This is so funny.
The acting is phenomenal and the images are very pretty.

But still, I personally feel like costume drama's aren't as interesting as other movies. And that's my opinion, completely based on my personal preferences.

So I have to admit that I do like Yorgos Lanthimos' other movies better. Those have this weird but interesting vibe over them that this one doesn't. But I must admit that I do really really like those movies, so those had set the bar high for this one.
