Invasion, U.S.A. 1952

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

If nothing else, this was a fascinating historical document of 1950's 'red scare' paranoia. It is no surprise that is was made with US Civil Defense (a predecessor of Homeland Security) assistance.
The film itself is pure hokum. Residents of a New York cocktail bar expound about Govt interference, high taxes, etc. But also of the need to be strong in the face of communism to a local news broadcaster, while a quiet somewhat sinister presence in the room points…
Spawn 1997

★★½ Rewatched 09 Feb, 2019

Not as bad as i remembered although those scenes in hell are some of the worst special effects i can remember. I can remember the cape effects being heralded amongst the best at the time but they obviously spent all the effects budget on Spawn and got some kid with a ZX Spectrum to do the rest. Performances are so-so except John Leguizamo who is wonderfully OTT.

Escape Plan 2: Hades 2018

I'll start by saying i quite enjoyed the last film so i was looking forward to a sequel. I soon came to regret that.

It is not enough that this film is boring. Worst is that the plot makes almost no sense. From the somewhat confusing cold start through to the almost incomprehensible and needlessly complicated main plot.

What a terrible movie. Worst of the year I've seen so far (yes its even worse that the pointless remake and equally boring Point Break).
