This film is such an evolution from Almodovar's previous work. With this film it feels like he's truly coming into his own as a filmmaker, and finding his voice. There is a sense of him growing as a filmmaker, which the opening sequence exemplifies; the cross-cutting in that scene is wonderful, and sets the tone perfectly for what is to come.
Loved this one a lot, I think it could be trimmed a little to help it flow better, but otherwise this one is really good.
