The In Crowd ★★★½

Joey Pants as a 1960’s TV teen dance party and emcee alone required a viewing. It turns out, however, that THE IN-CROWD is an earnest and entertaining film about teenage love and aspirations featuring a terrific collection of songs from the era. Likely unavailable due to music rights, it’s well worth the effort of tracking down. Plus you’ll finally get to see Jennifer Runyon (that girl that Bull Murray fawns over during his ESP tests in Ghostbusters) in a starring role. There’s also a living room dance-off between the two guys fighting for her affections that must be seen. Donovan Leitch never had much of a career and you can see how he fell through the cracks, but he’s wonderful here. This movie deserves a fanclub, a small one, but a fan club nonetheless
