James Patrick’s review published on Letterboxd :
This might be William Holden’s greatest performance. The deeeper I dive into the Ryan O’Neal catalog the more impressed I become with his ability to play off all manner of performers. He’s a remarkable supporting on-screen partner and seems to work best when he’s boosting a flashier performance. WILD ROVERS is one of the great unsung westerns of the 1970’s and I’m already looking forward to revisiting this film in the near future. Edwards tells a gripping small story in a big way. If you’re. If you’re not invested in these characters — even the supporting players like Tom Skerritt, Joe Don and Karl Malden — you’re not paying attention.
