Welp I joined the large group of people that understands this movie is problematic but still enjoys the overall output, largely in part because of how kinetic the leads are. Also it goes without saying it's absolutely absurd that they didn't get an African American screenwriter on this, or consult the family to get their say, which again are things that didn't see apparent in the film.

I always like movies set in the future where things aren't a mess but there is an obvious effort to show how our humanity has deteriorated. Spike Jones creates this environment perfectly, also Joaquin Phoenix is one of my favs and he knocks it out of the park with this one, and mixes very well with Johansons pure voice.
So one of my favorite parts about this film is the narration that goes on in the story as at first it seems as though it's going to just be exposition for development but in actuality it's quite the opposite.
