Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood

It’s a hangout movie, ya dig?

Tarantino clearly wants to just live in old Hollywood and this movie might just be an excuse for him to show Hollywood in ‘69, and talk about old movies and tv shows from the era. It all feels extremely esoteric but this feels like a movie Tarantino made just for himself, and if you like it great, and if you don’t, he doesn’t really care.

I really had a blast living in this world…

    Ready or Not

Hey, just asking, but can Samara Weaving be in ALL the movies???

Man, this might just be the most fun I’ve had in a theater all year. Ready or Not is a
horror-comedy that delivers plenty of laughs and gore. Samara Weaving really is the MVP of this thing and I love how her reactions to everything seem so genuine and she makes mostly smart choices, which is refreshing for a horror protagonist. I also had no idea where this…

So this is one of those times I kick myself for not having seen a movie sooner. Just another Argento movie that I absolutely loved.

I really loved the vibe of this whole thing. This just has so much going for it. The beautiful Swiss setting, the killer soundtrack, Donald Pleasance as a Scottish entomologist with a pet chimp named Inga, and Jennifer Connelly being able to telepathically talk to bugs and just being as likable as she can be.…

Little Stephen Dorff stabbing that eyeball in the palm of his hand has haunted me since I was 6 years old. *shudders*

    “Born of a broken man”

Joker is a steady and bleak descent into madness and violence. A complicated tale of a man you can empathize with, but by the end, should be appalled by. The violence is usually abrupt and shocking and truly leaves an impact.

I can’t help but agree with all the buzz about Joaquin Phoenix. He does give a truly amazing performance. He’s absolutely captivating and every look, every dance move, and every laugh is something special.…

    One Cut of the Dead

    Well this was bloody brilliant.

One of those movies I truly don’t want to say too much about because I wouldn’t want to spoil any of it. I came for a horror comedy about zombies and got one of the best movies about making movies I’ve ever seen. This was just so energetic and joyous and I can’t wait to revisit it.
