This is an absolute phantasmagoria of ultra violence.

This was my first time revisiting this one in awhile and my first time cracking open the 4K I picked up a few months ago. My God, this movie looks amazing. I still kick myself that I didn’t get a chance to this one in 3D. It’s really a crime that this was a commercial failure, because we should have had at least a couple sequels by now with Karl Urban as…

    A purple cosmic haze.....

I’ve been dying to see Color out of Space for months. Richard Stanley coming back to direct a Lovecraft adaptation starting Nicolas Cage?? Sign me up!

Unfortunately, I couldn’t go the one night it was playing anywhere near me theatrically about a month ago. I was planning to rent it ASAP, but then saw the 4K for under $20 at Best Buy today, and thought “Eh, why not?” That turned out to be a great choice,…

    “By Grabthar’s Hammer......what a savings.”

Galaxy Quest is already great, but it gets even better after you’ve watched 10 Star Trek movies in the span of less than 2 weeks.

“Jesus! You think Eddie Money has to put up with this shit?!?”

A horror comedy that’s actually a legitimately good slasher movie while still poking fun at the genre. Also, it’s a genuinely good whodunit, with plenty of viable suspects and red herrings. I’ve seen this 3-4 times and the movie still has me trying to remember who the killer is, but that could also be chalked up to my shitty memory, but hey, I’ll just give credit to the movie for being a good mystery.

    VAN DAMME-A-THON 2020!!!

Man, I don’t know what Van Damme loves more in a movie: playing dual roles or fighting tournaments.

A pretty standard and straight forward action flick where Van Damme participates in an underground fighting tournaments for rich people’s entertainment to provide money for his dead brother’s family. JCVD actually has a screenplay/story credit on this one and it’s not bad, just very simple. They tried to inject some emotion into this one with the brother’s family to mixed results, and the fights are just fine, but nothing spectacular.

“When life hands you lemons, just say fuck the lemons and bail.”

One of my ultimate comfort movies. Just totally rewatchable and insanely quotable. This was playing on tv a lot when I was going through the worst breakup of my life and it really helped to lift my spirits.

I was feeling a little down this morning, just about how crazy things are right now in the world, and once again watching this silly little comedy helped cheer me up.

Hope everyone is staying safe and sane out there. 👍
