As someone obsessed with memory and its role in our actions and perceptions, and as a sucker for a quiet near-future sci-fi tale, here's a movie that's firmly in my alley. Unfortunately, I was not in the frame of mind for this (the horror in Ukraine crowding my thoughts tbh). I realize this after spending the last couple of days on and off thinking through what I know is a profound effort. I missed a lot and the themes that escaped me seem important. Just the fact that I have this feeling days later tells me there's more here waiting for me. I'm planning a rewatch as soon as I'm able and will reassess + write more.
