Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain

    ★★½

I love PLEASE DON'T DESTROY's work on SNL, so I was excited to watch THE TREASURE OF FOGGY MOUNTAIN. Martin, John & Ben have great chemistry & the film has some fun cameos (even if Conan can't act), but it felt so much longer than 92 mins! The structure & editing are weird for a feature. 2.5*

    While We Watched

    ★★★½

WHILE WE WATCHED is a depressing look at journalists fighting the fake news promoted by right-wing channels before the 2019 elections in India. Definitely feared it would turn into a snuff film at several points. Important stuff but told without much context & constantly moving super/subtitles 3.5*

SALTBURN turns everything up to 11—Fennell is a master of excess in this eat-the-rich tale with a fantastic & fearless performance from Keoghan. So many great scenes that add up to a good film. The ending was too hand-holdy & slashed Oliver's arc. Gorgeous cinematography & a great ending 3.5*

I think I need to watch more of Reichardt's films. WENDY & LUCY is a brilliant film in a tight 80 minutes. I felt such anxiety when Williams was separated from her dog early in the film; I didn't realize most of the film was her trying to get her back. Heartbreaking ending
