Like this less as I sit with it because it's just so sloppily structured and uneven, but I can't hate something this bugnuts fucking ludicrous and ambitious. That this strange cruel hybrid beast of a movie even exists and was funded by a major studio and continues off an iconic franchise is like some aligning of the stars shit.
Too bad it loses a lot of Prometheus's comparatively elegant…
Test screening of the (somewhat) unfinished product, so I can't really say anything terribly specific about why I really liked this, but MAN, I really really liked this. Incredibly gorgeous throwback to classical, gothic horror a la Edgar Allen Poe (with tinges of Lovecraft). Dug the hell out of it.
